Happy New year! At the end of most years, I ask myself – where did the year go? But not so this year. The end simply couldn’t come quick enough.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday and, I suspect like most everything else, it was different. For countless years, I have celebrated by getting together with my brothers and their families on Christmas Eve. However, this year, my wife and I exercised caution and celebrated with just three children and my mother. Nonetheless, it was special in its own way.
As we all gladly close out 2020 and get a peek into 2021, I feel good for what lies ahead for there are many reasons to be optimistic. Impressively, our best scientists and medical professionals have developed vaccinations in record time, which are now being produced and distributed. Our political parties, which can hardly seem to agree on anything, have started to come together with a pandemic relief plan. The endless Brexit drama seems to be coming to a close as the European Union and Great Britain have signed an agreement on a post-Brexit deal. And, probably the biggest reason for optimism, is that most of our clients have adapted well, and some have even thrived, during these crazy Covid times. Many companies went into this crisis with a strong balance sheet and hearty resolve. We are blessed to work with so many great businesses, watching them skillfully adapt by putting their ingenuity and flexibility into action, along with great dedication and hard work from their staff. For these reasons, I have great hope for what lies ahead.
For those of you who have personally suffered due to the Covid crisis, you are in my thoughts and prayers. And for all, I wish you and yours, a prosperous and healthy 2021!
