CPA firm Clayton & McKervey, P.C. is pleased to announce the promotions of Catherine Faysal, David Grasseschi, Ben Smith, David Van Damme, and Joel Zielke to Manager.
Supporting the Clayton McKervey, P.C. goal of being a global resource for our clients, the newly promoted professionals will continue to support the firm’s mission of providing specialized accounting, auditing, and tax services to growth driven, middle market companies who compete in the global marketplace.

Catherine Faysal, CPA
Katie’s primary focus is performing audits of closely held businesses. She has experience serving clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, financial, service-related, and automotive. Several of her clients are owned by foreign owned companies located in China, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, and Canada. Katie is also a member of the firm’s employee benefit plan audit team and has received specialized training in this area.
Katie received her Bachelors in Art – Accounting from Hillsdale College.
David Grasseschi, CPA, MBA
Dave provides corporate tax compliance and financial statement reporting services to companies from around the globe, including China, Mexico, Canada, and Japan. His industry experience includes closely held companies in the manufacturing, automotive, and professional services sectors.
Dave received his Masters in Business Administration from Walsh College and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
Benjamin Smith, CPA
Ben works with closely held businesses with interests around the globe including companies from Mexico, the United Kingdom, China, and India. His experience includes companies in the automotive, technology, professional services, manufacturing, and distribution sectors. Within the firm, Ben assists Clayton & McKervey, P.C. by looking strategically at firm processes and the technology available to complete them.
Ben received his Bachelors in Accounting with a concentration in Applied Technology in Business from Oakland University.
David Van Damme, CPA, CFE
Dave has extensive experience performing audits. He works closely with owners, controllers and bookkeepers of foreign owned companies from Japan, Germany, and Luxembourg. Dave’s industry experiences ranges from steel processors to automotive manufacturers to engineering service companies, and includes smaller start-up companies. Dave recently earned the certified fraud examiner designation and works with clients to establish processes and procedures to help prevent fraud.
Dave received his Bachelors in Accounting with a concentration in Applied Technology in Business from Oakland University.
Joel Zielke, CPA, MST
Joel’s primary focus is assisting clients with international and multi-state tax compliance and planning. His international experience includes closely held businesses owned by companies in Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Belgium, and Germany. He has experience serving clients in a variety of industries including private equity, automotive, engineering, and manufacturing and distribution.
Joel received his Master of Science in Taxation and Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College.
