Angela Liu graduated from the University of Toronto Rotman Commerce in 2015 with a Bachelor of Commerce. She currently now works in our Audit Department and hopes to build client relations using her mandarin skill set.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me would be going to fieldwork as a team. This consists of understanding our client’s business, along with any changes they experienced and performing auditing procedures that require us to be in the field.
What is the most meaningful part of your job?
The most meaningful part of my job is to be able to learn and understand and possibly help these businesses by communicating with their management and employees as a team. The best part is, you are not alone, you are always with your team.
What do you consider your greatest success so far in your public accounting career?
This is a difficult question, because I consider everyday as a success! Although I believe my greatest success in public accounting so far would be passing my CPA exam. Aside from the technical knowledge you gain from this exam and your professional license, this exam has taught me perseverance, time management and being able to absorb and utilize new information at a quicker pace.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out their career?
The classes you take in college vastly differs from the actual profession. Don’t limit yourself to what you did or did not enjoy, try them all! You might surprise yourself.
