Robert Dutkiewicz Appointed to Oakland University’s School of Business Administration’s Board of Visitors
Robert Dutkiewicz, CPA, MST, president of Clayton & McKervey, a full service accounting, tax and consulting firm servicing growth-driven internationally-minded companies, has been appointed to Oakland University’s School of Business Administration’s Board of Visitors, effective September 15, 2016. He most recently served on the OU Accounting and Finance Advisory Board, a role he held for nearly 15 years.
Through his years of service, Dutkiewicz regularly met with professors, administrators and students to discuss industry trends, academic courses and other programs within the business school. Clayton & McKervey Manager Ben Smith will continue the firm’s leadership on the Accounting and Finance Board as Dutkiewicz moves into his new position.
“Rob’s involvement is valuable and appreciated,” says Mohinder Parkash, chair of the Accounting and Finance Department at OU’s business school. “As chair of the Accounting and Finance Advisory Board for many years, Rob has been tremendously supportive of the school and its students,” Parkash adds. “He has worked diligently to help expand our curriculum to meet industry needs. We are pleased he is being recognized for his achievements.”
“Oakland University did an exceptional job of helping me prepare for my career — not just in the academic sense, but in the life balance aspect as well,” Dutkiewicz says. “I’m honored to support both my alma mater and its students,” he said.
Dutkiewicz finds it rewarding to stay involved and to help the next generation of leaders achieve success, and get started in their careers. In addition to Dutkiewicz’ personal involvement, the firm actively pursues Oakland University talent, visiting Elliott Hall, home of OU’s business school, frequently during the academic year to meet students and talk about accounting careers.
Rob Dutkiewicz joined Clayton & McKervey in 1988 and became president of the firm in 2016. He leads an organization devoted to providing proactive and specialized knowledge on the domestic and international tax and accounting issues impacting foreign-owned companies.
In addition to his service to the university, where he and his family have also endowed an annual scholarship for accounting students, Dutkiewicz serves on the boards of the British American Business Council, Cornerstone Health High & Technology School, Leonardo International and the St. Vincent de Paul Foundation. He is active in many economic development associations and chambers of commerce, and in his church.
